The Children Movement for Climate Justice (CMCJ) has been driving baseline development and providing support with guidance for the rural community in of Telangana state. Keeping in view of the effect of environmental pollutions and organising awareness programmes on environment protection and lobbied with Government and planted saplings under Haritha Haram program.
In Telangana chapter we have planted 16500 saplings in three districts under HARITHA HARAM scheme and we have plant protection committees in all villages and they took care of plants like pouring water, fence around plant like that. And more over in these programme cmcj children participated in programme and planted saplings. HARITHA HARAM is a programme of plantation saplings and implemented by the state Government. HARITHA HARAM is a large scale tree planting programme implemented by the government of Telangana
Conducted clean and green programmes through community and CMCJ members Programme are 1. Swachh Bharat. This programme is implemented by central government. 2. Rallies on clean and green environment. 3. Awareness programme to children on personal cleaning. In this programme involved cmcj members and cmcj children, Gram Panchayath surpanch and other secretarial staff, Anganvadi teachers and community people.
In Telangana state chapter we have conducted various activities 1.like awareness programmes on loss of using plastic bags and rallies .2. We picked up plastic bags in village through cmcj children 3. We gave awareness to recycle plastic bags and we motivated community people to use cloth bags and cotton bags. In this programme above 5510 children got awareness on it and we have here 49 free plastic villages
We Create awareness to farmers on uses of panchakavya and we formed one Panchakavya Farmers Federation of Dornakal Mandal sthai {level} committee with 40 Panchakavya farmers, Mahabubabad District, and now farmers are using panchakavya for their crops and they got more profit and we are strengthening kitchen gardening to children and children are participated in kitchen gardening .
In Telangana state chapter we have conducted many activities on child rights they are
Awareness rallies on child rights and regularly conducted meetings with cmcj members regarding the child rights. We gave awareness to adult girls about losses of early child marriage and we are also counseling adult girl’s parents
During the last six months we are strengthening membership for cmcj between 13 to 18 age group under this process total members are 1247.
